Anfani foundation is dedicated to creating a roadmap to help students navigate the complex process of applying to and funding an undergraduate education in the United States. We will work closely with the scholars to assist them throughout the application process to secure admission and scholarships to attend colleges and universities in the United States as well as during the student visa interview process. . We expect our scholars to be committed and diligent in doing the necessary work to achieve their dream of studying abroad.
We believe that education is a powerful tool for creating positive change in the world and that every student, regardless of their background or circumstances, should have access to high-quality global educational opportunities that enable them to achieve their full potential.

ANFANI SCHOLARS PROGRAM (ASP)
The Anfani Scholars Program is a comprehensive initiative that seeks to identify outstanding and talented students from low income families by providing them with access and resources to gain admission and secure scholarships into US Colleges and Universities
Selection Criteria
The selection of finalists for the ASP is highly competitive and we look for applicants with;
- Strong academic record/transcript. Applicants must have recently graduated from Secondary School and completed the West African Examination Council Examination (WAEC) within the past year or will be graduating in the current year
- Must have obtained all A’s in 80% of their coursework in the senior secondary school (transcripts will be obtained directly from school)
- Must have obtained 6-7 (A’s) on the West African Examination Council Examination (WAEC)
- Robust participation in extracurricular activities
- Involvement in leadership roles
- Excellent community service participation
- Must be able to demonstrate financial need
- Must apply from pool of schools provided by the program director
Application Requirements
- Online Application Form
- Transcript – Scanned copy of your transcript from JS 1 to SS3 including your mock exams.
- WAEC Result from WAEC website and must be within the past year – If WAEC result is not available, student must be in SS3.
- Letter of recommendation (Must be from a teacher or principal – Recommendation letter must attest to your character, talent, skills, community involvement, leadership and educational achievement. (can be uploaded or emailed to anfanifoundation@gmail.com
- Typed Essay (can be uploaded or emailed to anfanifoundation@gmail.com
- Essay questions – Why do you want to study in the United States and what do you hope to become in the future. What are your short-term and long-term goals, and how do you believe this program will help you achieve them? Additionally, how do you plan to use your education to positively impact your community or society at large? (250-300 words limit)
Responsibility for the scholars
- All scholars must commit their time and energy towards applying to institutions that can offer a full scholarship
- All scholars must be willing to mentor the next cohort of scholars
Benefits
- Anfani scholars do not receive a scholarship from Anfani Foundation to study in the US
- The scholar must work hard to apply to institutions that can provide full funding for them
- Anfani will cover the upfront costs of applying to the US institutions (up to 3 schools)
- Anfani will cover the costs of credential evaluation, standardized tests (SAT & TOEFL), application fees, international passport, flight ticket to the US, Visa and SEVIS Fees and a settling-in allowance.
- Professional guidance and coaching from program director throughout the application and visa process
